Strata with Prosciutto and Goat Cheese

Recipe Ingredients

18 slices firm white bread
6 oz. Prosciutto di Parma, sliced thin
8 oz. goat cheese, crumbled

4 oz. Provolone, shredded
1/4 cup sliced scallions
6 tbsp. thinly sliced basil
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
5 large eggs
2 cups milk
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
3 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

Coat bottom and sides of a 13X9X2 baking pan with non-stick spray. Line bottom with slices of bread, cutting to fit if necessary. Arrange half the Prosciutto over the bread and half the crumbled goat cheese, Provolone, basil and scallions. Repeat with another layer of bread, cheeses, Prosciutto, basil and scallions. Cut remaining bread into cubes and sprinkle over the top

Beat eggs with milk, mustard, salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Pour custard mixture over the strata. Drizzle with melted butter. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Allow to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking in a preheated 350-degree oven. Bake until center is set and top is golden brown, about 1 hour.
